Hundreds of Ukrainian troops occupy Sudzha, Russian security official reveals

While some Ukrainian troops have attempted to flee toward the bordering Ukrainian region of Sumy, all roads remain under Russia’s fire control, he said

KURSK, March 12. /TASS/. Hundreds of Ukrainian troops remain in Sudzha, a border town in Russia’s Kursk Region, a Russian security official told TASS.

"Several thousand Ukrainian troops are still present in the town. They are mostly stationed in basements of residential buildings or fortified positions in the industrial zone, and many are even unaware of the situation not only on the battlefield but also in nearby streets," the official shared.

While some Ukrainian troops have attempted to flee toward the bordering Ukrainian region of Sumy, all roads remain under Russia’s fire control, he added. Also, a clearance operation is ongoing in forests of the Sudzha District where scattered groups of Ukrainian troops continue to resist, unaware of the situation on the battlefield.
