KURSK, March 11. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops used civilians as a human shield against Russian forces, acting governor of Russia’s borderline Kursk Region Alexander Khinshtein said, citing residents of liberated settlements in border areas.
"People recalled that the Nazi literally used them as a human shield to keep our military at a distance. They thank Russian soldiers who saved them from the occupation. Each time I admire our military who take care about civilians: they managed to provide people with bread, despite drone attacks," he wrote on his Telegram channel after visiting a hospital where people from liberated settlements are receiving treatment.
The Russian defense ministry reported earlier that a number of settlements in the Kursk Region, including Malaya Loknya, Cherkasskoye Porechnoye, Kositsa and others, had been liberated from Ukrainian troops.
