No formalized peace plan on Ukraine on agenda yet — Kremlin

The question of the Ukrainian settlement is one of the central international problems of recent years

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. A coherent peace plan for the Ukrainian settlement is not yet on the agenda, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Some first draft provisions of such potential peace plans are appearing. Although there is no reason to say that a coherent institutionalized peace plan is on the agenda yet," the spokesman said.

The question of the Ukrainian settlement is one of the central international problems of recent years. The new US administration has set a course to restore relations with Russia and resolve the conflict as soon as possible, but this is being hindered by both Kiev and European countries.

Moscow is in favor of resolving the conflict through political and diplomatic means, provided that the root causes of the conflict are addressed. At the same time, Western Europe considers it necessary to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Russia in order to ensure Kiev's advantage in potential negotiations and a settlement on Ukraine's terms.
