Lavrov, senior CSTO MPs discuss development of collective security system

MOSCOW, February 7. /TASS/. Issues of the further development of the collective security system and closer foreign policy coordination were the focus of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s meeting with senior lawmakers from the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Russian foreign ministry said.

"The sides discussed major results of the comprehensive cooperation within the CSTO in 2024 and outlines key areas of the further development of the collective security system, strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and expanding foreign policy coordination within the association," it said.

"They also exchanged views on the current problems on the international and regional agenda," the ministry added.

The meeting was also attended by ambassadors of the CSTO nations and the organization’s secretary general, Ismangali Tasmagambetov.
