Russian State Duma passes 564 new laws in 2024 — speaker

233 laws were passed during the fall session

MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. Members of the Russian State Duma reviewed 1,086 legislative initiatives and passed 564 laws in 2024, Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said, speaking at the final plenary meeting of the Duma’s fall session.

"This year, as we worked to achieve the national development goals set by President Vladimir Putin, the State Duma reviewed 1,086 legislative initiatives. […] From this large number of initiatives, 564 federal laws were adopted," Volodin said.

He added that 233 laws were passed during the fall session: 22% were laws of social importance and 68% laws were direct action laws.

"We keep talking about the amount of direct action laws. We must do everything we can so that there are as many of those as possible, as this directly affects the effectiveness of legislation," Volodin underscored.
