Russian forces liberate Novoivanovka: situation in Russia’s Kursk Region

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Units of Russia’s Battlegroup North continued their offensive, liberating the settlement of Novoivanovka in the Kursk Region, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

The Ukrainian armed forces have lost more than 200 troops in the Kursk area over the past day, with the total number of enemy losses since the fighting began in the region amounting to more than 40,060 troops.

Operation to neutralize Ukrainian forces

- Units of Russia’s Battlegroup North continued their offensive, liberating the settlement of Novoivanovka.

- Russian forces defeated Ukrainian armed formations in the settlements of Viktorovka, Guyevo, Kruglenkoye, Lebedevka, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Martynovka, Nikolayevo-Daryino, Nikolskoye and Sverdlikovo.

- Russian operational/tactical and army aircraft, missile forces hit enemy manpower and equipment in the Kursk and Sumy regions.

- The operation to destroy Ukrainian forces continues.

Ukraine’s losses

- Over the day, Ukraine lost more than 200 troops, a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored combat vehicles, four motor vehicles and three mortars.

- Since the beginning of hostilities in the Kursk Region, Kiev has lost over 40,060 troops, 236 tanks, 175 infantry fighting vehicles, 123 armored personnel carriers, 1,251 armored combat vehicles, 1,115 motor vehicles, 308 artillery pieces, and 40 multiple rocket launchers, including 11 HIMARS and six MLRS of US manufacture.

Red Cross Aid

- The Russian Red Cross Society has assisted more than 125,000 people in the Kursk Region in 2024, the organization reported.

- This assistance included, but was not limited to, 26,000 vouchers for pharmacy products and 21,000 certificates for the purchase of basic necessities. Over 19,000 people, including children, received psychological and social support. A total of 1,328 people who had lost contact with their relatives were found.
