Russian diplomat says White House likely works to cover up corrupt deals in Ukraine

"It is remarkable that US Department of State Inspector General Cardell Richardson was sent to Ukraine on November 4 to inspect the transparency and accountability of how it spent aid from across the ocean under the guise of supporting Kiev's Euro-Atlantic aspirations," Maria Zakharova said

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The recent visit of a US State Department inspector to Ukraine most likely sought to "cover up corrupt deals" of US President Joe Biden’s outgoing administration, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a statement.

"It is remarkable that US Department of State Inspector General Cardell Richardson was sent to Ukraine on November 4 to inspect the transparency and accountability of how it spent aid from across the ocean under the guise of supporting Kiev's Euro-Atlantic aspirations," Zakharova said. "In reality, as experts note, it was most likely about covering up corrupt deals of Joe Biden’s outgoing administration. And there is no doubt that they exist. The rampant corruption in Ukraine is its trademark and a universally recognized fact."

The diplomat mentioned a Politico report about the Biden administration's plans to allocate the remaining $6.4 billion to Kiev because of fears that President-elect Donald Trump will cut off military aid to Vladimir Zelensky's regime after his inauguration on January 20, 2025.
