US comes up with ‘stillborn’ ideas for security dialogue — Russian diplomat

Vladimir Yermakov mentioned "information, forwarded to the media by the Americans themselves, about Washington’s attempts to engage" Russia into discussions on a standalone issue of the non-deployment of nuclear weapons in space, but "there are no chances" that Moscow will treat this 'take' seriously

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The administration of US President Joe Biden is coming up with "stillborn ideas" for security dialogue with Russia, and there is nothing to discuss about their proposals, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department Vladimir Yermakov has told TASS in an interview.

The diplomat mentioned "information, forwarded to the media by the Americans themselves, about Washington’s attempts to engage" Russia into discussions on a standalone issue of the non-deployment of nuclear weapons in space.

"However, there are no chances that we will treat this 'take' seriously. It was made in the context of absolutely fake US assertions about Russia’s alleged plans in this regard, and also against the backdrop of new US attempts to escalate the Ukrainian crisis with the goal of eventually inflicting the ‘strategic defeat’ on Russia," he said. "Therefore, there was nothing to discuss, as there is still no basis or subject for discussion."

"The next steps by the administration of US President Joe Biden, which is spouting propaganda tricks and stillborn initiatives, only proved us right," the diplomat added.
