MOSCOW, March 18. /TASS/. Incumbent Russian head of state Vladimir Putin, who has won the country’s presidential election, believes that he and other presidential candidates share the same vision for the country.
"You and I took our own paths during the election campaign. I know and I am guided by the knowledge that every person, let alone a parliamentary faction head, has his or her own view of what we should do to achieve the common goals of national development," Putin said at a meeting with the other three presidential contenders at the Kremlin. "However, our goals are definitely the same; it’s obvious," the head of state noted.
"I know this from quite a long and close history of communication with your parties and you personally," Putin said addressing Nikolay Kharitonov of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), Vladislav Davankov of the New People party and Leonid Slutsky of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR).
"We need to keep working actively together in the country’s parliament and also continue joint efforts to promote the ideas that will allow us to come closer to achieving the goals the country has," Putin noted.
The head of state is confident that these goals should be achieved "no matter the party promoting the ideas." "There are things that everyone understands. They concern the security of the Russian state, issues related to our borders and the need to ensure sovereignty in the fields of combat readiness, technology, financial and credit policy and the like," Putin specified.
The president also plans to discuss requests made by supporters of the other candidates "to use the feedback for cooperation and efforts to achieve common goals.".
