BELGOROD, March 7. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military fired around 100 munitions at populated areas in Russia’s Belgorod Region bordering Ukraine and attacked them with six unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, with no casualties reported, Regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel on Thursday.
"In the Shebekino urban district, the settlement of Krasnoye was shelled by a grenade launcher, with 95 grenades hitting the area. There are no casualties. A private home went ablaze after it was hit by a grenade and fully burnt out," the governor said.
In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, the outskirts of the settlement of Popovka were hit by three shells that damaged two infrastructural facilities, he said.
"After coordinating their efforts with the Russian Defense Ministry, emergency services will start recovery work," the governor added.
The Ukrainian military also used unmanned aerial vehicles for attacks on communities in the Belgorodsky, Borisovsky and Graivoronsky districts. Air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian aircraft-type UAV over the village of Bessonovka and three kamikaze drones over the village of Solntsevka, Gladkov said.
Damage was found in the settlement of Razumnoye after air defenses repulsed an enemy aerial attack: the roofing of a warehouse was damaged, the governor said.
In the Borisovsky district, engineering and technical capabilities suppressed a Ukrainian kamikaze drone with its subsequent detonation in the outskirts of the farmstead Lozovaya Rudka. In the Graivoronsky urban district, the Ukrainian military attacked the outskirts of the village of Kozinka by a kamikaze drone, he said.
"Also, various damage was revealed in 13 private homes in Kozinka as a result of mortar fire on March 5: windows were smashed and roofs, facades and fences were damaged," the governor said.
