MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin said he discussed security issues in Central Asia at talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon.
"Naturally, the issue of security in Central Asia was touched upon. Of course, with regard primarily to those issues that crop up in Afghanistan," Putin said in a statement following the meeting.
He added that in general, the talks focused on discussing pressing regional and global issues. "We dwelled on the issues of interaction within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the UN," the Russian president said.
