Some Russian delegates yet to receive visas from US for APEC summit — diplomat

Maria Zakharova urged the US side to process the visas as soon as possible and avoid any "hypocrisy, deception or confusing the public"

MOSCOW, November 9. /TASS/. Washington hasn’t yet issued visas to everybody in the Russian delegation ahead of the summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting slated to be held in San Francisco on November 15-17, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing.

"With less than a week to go to the [APEC] summit, not all Russian delegates have been issued US visas yet," she said.

The Russian diplomat urged the US side to process the visas as soon as possible and avoid any "hypocrisy, deception or confusing the public."

"Time and again, they bleed the Ukraine agenda dry at APEC," Zakharova continued. "Therefore, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that the anti-Russian sentiment being stirred up by the Americans at APEC is being linked with Ukraine, while it is irrelevant to the agenda," she insisted.

According to Zakharova, such actions "are not finding support with the organization’s member countries," as she described the corresponding US policy as "destructive."

The diplomat also gave her assurances that Russia would certainly make the list of its delegates who will make it to the APEC summit public via official channels.
