Weapons supplies to Kiev to threaten EU’s civil aviation — Russian MFA

Maria Zakharova noted that the scale of direct military support to Kiev from the West was steadily growing

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. The West's arms supplies to Ukraine will endanger the security of the European Union, including that of its civil aviation, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing on Wednesday.

"We have warned more than once that Western weapons, including anti-aircraft and anti-tank systems that find their way to Ukraine, have been spreading all over the world due to the rampant corruption in Ukraine's political and military circles. They are surfacing in other regional conflicts and falling into the hands of organized crime groups, terrorists and extremists. Including those in Europe. They will create a threat to the internal security of every country on the European continent, in particular, in the sphere of civil air traffic," she said.

Zakharova noted that the scale of direct military support to Kiev from the West was steadily growing. She pointed out that on March 13, EU countries were forced to replenish the budget of the so-called peace fund by more than 2 billion euros, bringing its total amount to almost 8 billion euros.

"The money is meant for a large-scale supply of artillery shells to the Ukrainian army. In other words, the EU taxpayers’ money will again be devoured by the black hole that is Ukraine and the US military-industrial complex. What is the main goal? To prolong hostilities on the European continent. In all, the European Union has shelled out about 13 billion euros in military assistance to the Kiev regime," Zakharova said.

Also, she stressed, the training of Ukrainian servicemen within the framework of the EU mission for military support to Kiev was being stepped up.

"Western-supplied weapons and foreign mercenaries are being used to kill civilians, including women and children, in the LPR, DPR, and the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions," Zakharova said.
