Germany takes under advisement New York Times report on Nord Stream sabotage

Earlier, it was reported that the latest intelligence data suggest a pro-Ukrainian group could be behind the sabotaging of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines

BERLIN, March 7. /TASS/. The German government has taken under advisement the New York Times report that a pro-Ukrainian group is responsible for sabotaging the Nord Stream pipelines, a German cabinet spokeswoman told TASS on Tuesday.

"The German government has taken under advisement the latest report by the New York Times," she said. "The Prosecutor General’s Office has been investigating the case since October 2022, thus leading the investigation [in Germany]. In addition, there’s an investigation of the explosions that’s conducted in Sweden and Denmark under the auspices of the national agencies of these countries."

"Sweden, Denmark and Germany fairly recently notified the UN Security Council that the investigation continues and there’s no result yet," the spokeswoman went on to say.

The New York Times reported earlier, citing US officials, that the latest intelligence data suggest a pro-Ukrainian group could be behind the sabotaging of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines.
