Russia, Angola set to speed up agreements on nuclear energy, trade, other areas — Lavrov

The Russian foreign minister noted the necessity to prioritize trade and economic cooperation as part of preparations to the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission

LUANDA, January 25. /TASS/. Russia and Angola agreed to speed up the coordination of documents related to cooperation in nuclear energy, trade, and other areas, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a press conference on Wednesday following the talks with his Angolan counterpart Tete Antonio.

"We agreed to speed up the coordination of several new draft intergovernmental agreements, including the establishment of cultural centers, nuclear energy, humanitarian operations, and commercial shipping," he said.

Russia’s top diplomat noted the necessity to prioritize trade and economic cooperation as part of preparations to the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission. Lavrov also said that Russia expects a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation with Angola at the end of April.
