MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed two Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the skies over the Rostov and Volgograd regions overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
Acting Governor of the Rostov Region Yury Slyusar clarified that a falling drone caused a fire at an industrial facility, but it was extinguished.

Scale of attacks
- During the night, air defenses intercepted and destroyed two Ukrainian UAVs in the skies over the Rostov and Volgograd regions, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
- The operation of Volgograd airport was temporarily restricted, suspending inbound and outbound flights starting at 05:45 a.m. Moscow time (2:45 a.m. GMT). The restrictions were lifted at 08:05 a.m. Moscow time (5:05 a.m. GMT).
- According to the online board, two Volgograd-Moscow flights, one Volgograd-St. Petersburg flight, as well as flights to Volgograd from Moscow, Samara, and Chelyabinsk were delayed. The delays totaled about 3-4 hours.
- A warning of a possible drone attack was issued in Akhtubinsk in the Astrakhan Region, Alexander Sivakov, acting head of the city administration, said on his Telegram channel. All services are operating in an intensified mode.
- A UAV warning was also issued in the Akhtubinsky district of the Astrakhan Region, the head of the district Vladimir Mikhed reported on his Telegram channel. He urged residents to remain calm and rely on information from official sources.
- Astrakhan's airport is operating normally, its spokeswoman Anastasia Golodova told TASS.
- A risk of a drone attack is present in the Astrakhan Region's Znamensk, head of the municipality Oleg Glotov said on his Telegram channel.
Aftermath
- Yury Slyusar, the acting governor of the Rostov Region, reported that a falling drone caused a fire at an industrial facility in the Konstantinovsky district.
- It was extinguished when its area was 5 square meters (54 square feet); no one was injured.
