Duma Speaker highlights importance of using national Russia-Uzbekistan payment instruments

During the meeting, Vyacheslav Volodin also mentioned the topic of migration processes

TASHKENT, November 28. /TASS/. It is important to find mutually beneficial solutions for Russia and Uzbekistan related to the use of national payment instruments due to a potential increase in the tourist flow between the countries, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said on Monday at a meeting with Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s parliament, Nurdinjon Ismoilov.

"Further increase in the tourist flow will contribute to the use of national payment instruments. It is important for us to find a mutually beneficial solution in this sphere," Volodin said.

The Duma speaker also noted that Uzbekistan was among Russia's leading economic partners in the CIS. "You are right to say that our relations are developing dynamically here. Therefore, it is extremely important that in political issues we do everything to provide a legislative basis for the development of our foreign economic relations and for the trade development," Volodin said.

During the meeting, the Duma speaker also mentioned the topic of migration processes. According to Volodin, they are "based on a mutually beneficial basis." "We are interested in creating favorable conditions for Uzbek citizens to stay in Russia," Volodin pointed out. He recalled that in April of this year, the State Duma ratified an agreement under which citizens of Russia and Uzbekistan are exempt from the need to register within 15 days from the date of entry into the territories of the countries.
