LPR top official says he knows names of those who executed Russian prisoners

"They will be found and will be punished to the fullest extent of military law," Acting head of the Lugansk People’s Republic Leonid Pasechnik said

LUGANSK, November 18. /TASS/. Acting head of the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) Leonid Pasechnik said on Friday that he knows the names of the Ukrainian soldiers who executed Russian prisoners in the city of Makeyevka.

"We know the names of the murderers! The monsters have signed their death sentence. They will be found and will be punished to the fullest extent of military law," he told reporters.

According to Pasechnik, the republic "has repeatedly drawn attention to violations of the norms of international law in respect to our servicemen" whereas Ukrainian soldiers "are feeling impunity and are not bothering to conceal their crimes against humanity." "We urge international human rights organizations to pay attention to the flagrant evidence of Ukraine’s violations of the Geneva conventions and call to justice those responsible," he said.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case over the mass shooting of Russian soldiers by Ukrainian troops.

The case was opened on the basis of a video featuring Ukrainian soldiers executing at least 11 unarmed Russian servicemen who were taken prisoner in the Lugansk People’s Republic.
