Ammunition cache found near Melitopol’s TV center after Oct 25 explosion

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. An ammunition cache has been found near the building of Melitopol’s TV center, damaged as a result of a nearby explosion on October 25, the Zaporozhye Region’s police force told TASS on Wednesday.

"In Melitopol, the police have found a cache with ammunition in a garage near the media holding’s building, where an explosive device went off in a parked car," the press service said.

A garage was searched and a whole arsenal found, including grenades, plastic explosives, and cartridges.

"The discovered ammunition has been seized and will be destroyed. Investigation is in progress," the police said, adding that its operative did a very good job in the field. Acting on an tip he found out that ammunition was hidden in a garage near the scene of the incident.

"Everyone who participates in terrorist activities, regardless of citizenship, needs to understand: Russia is here now, and the punishment for such a serious crime will be most severe," the police warned.

On the morning of October 25, an explosion occurred in Melitopol near the building of the ZaMedia media holding company. The blast wave smashed windows and doors inside and damaged neighboring houses and several cars. Twelve people were injured, including a teenager. The police said the blast’s yield was equivalent to at least 15 kilograms of TNT.
