MOSOCW, June 25. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that there are about 220,000 Russian citizens living in Transnistria, as a warning in case of "serious turmoil kicking off" with Romania’s takeover of Moldova."

Speaking about the possible creation of a ‘new Greater Romania,’ the politician noted: "Should a serious turmoil begin around Romania’s anschluss of Moldova, it should be take into account that there are about 220,000 Russian citizens living in Transnistria."

Medvedev made this remark on his Telegram channel, commenting on Moldova’s EU membership candidate status for TASS.
