MOSCOW, June 10. /TASS/. Russia’s armed forces opened a water route to the city of Ochakov after liberating Kinburn Spit, a strategically important part of the Nikolaev Region, a source in Russia’s security structures told TASS on Friday.
"As a result of a successful offensive by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a waterway to the city of Ochakov was opened. A strategically important part of the Nikolaev Region, the vicinity of Kinburn Spit, was liberated," the source said.
He specified that Kiev is hiding the fact that it can no longer control the situation in the Dnieper-Bug estuary from its Western partners.
Additionally, the Ochakov authorities completely abandoned water traffic with Kinburn Spit on Kiev’s orders. According to the source, the city’s mayor said that "there is no sense in doing this" citing the office of the Ukrainian president.
Earlier, in an interview with TASS, Head of the Kherson Region’s Military-Civilian Administration Vladimir Saldo said that navigation in the vicinity of the Kherson Region’s ports would be completely restored, most likely when the Nikolaev Region is liberated and particularly the city of Ochakov which blocks the exit from the Dnieper-Bug estuary.
