Official lauds Russian air defense systems for downing every missile targeted at Kherson

KHERSON, June 6. /TASS/. Russian air defense systems have downed almost every missile targeted at Kherson, the local administration head said in an interview with TASS.

"The sky where most threats have been coming from has proved to be protected. Almost every [missile] has been destroyed," head of the Kherson Region’s civil-military administration Vladimir Saldo said.

On February 21, President Vladimir Putin recognized the sovereignty of the Donetsk and the Lugansk People’s Republics. On February 24, he launched a special military operation in Ukraine in response to a request from the leaders of the two Donbass republics. The Kherson Region in southern Ukraine is under full control of Russian forces, and life is gradually returning to normal there.
