Russian diplomat suggests US may blacklist Kissinger when he turns 100 years old

A Ukrainian website called the Peacemaker, or Mirotvorets, recently blacklisted Kissinger over his comments at the World Economic Forum in Davos regarding the Ukrainian conflict, and Zakharova said on Telegram that the move was an original gift for his 99th birthday

MOSCOW, May 28. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Friday suggested that the US may sanction former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger after the he was blacklisted by a website in Ukraine.

A Ukrainian website called the Peacemaker, or Mirotvorets, recently blacklisted Kissinger over his comments at the World Economic Forum in Davos regarding the Ukrainian conflict, and Zakharova said on Telegram that the move was "an original gift for his 99th birthday."

"For his 100-year anniversary, he could be included in the US sanctions list," Zakharova said. "So that they don’t rack their brain over the reasoning, I propose this one short phrase: ‘for the possession of intellect.’"

The authors of the Peacemaker website say Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies should consider a person’s inclusion in its listing as a signal that the person seeks to undermine the country’s national security.

Kissinger earlier said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the process of settlement in Ukraine should be started in the next two months in order to avoid more serious consequences for international relations in Europe. He said, "Ideally, the dividing line should be a return to the status quo ante."

Kissinger said a neutral status for Ukraine and its establishment as a bridge between Russia and Europe is the main goal, given the situation around the country at the moment.
