Sergey Razov also commented on Monday's incident with an attempt to damage the building of the Russian diplomatic mission in Rome

MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. The Russian Embassy sent a note to the Italian Foreign Ministry demanding additional measures to protect Russian diplomatic missions, Russian Ambassador to Rome Sergey Razov said on Wednesday during a broadcast on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"We, as we should, sent an official note to the Italian Foreign Ministry with a request, or rather a demand, to take additional measures to protect our representations abroad both here in Rome and at our three consulates general that work in Italy," he said.

The ambassador also commented on Monday's incident with an attempt to damage the building of the Russian diplomatic mission in Rome, calling it politically motivated. The diplomat noted that the attacker was caught, he was a citizen of Ukraine living in Italy.

"There were about 300,000 Ukrainians here even before the recent events, and now about 90,000 refugees have arrived in this country, it is clear with what attitudes," he added.
