Neo-Nazism flourishes in Ukraine not only against Russians but also against Jews — Lavrov

Russia's top diplomat noted that many physical crimes are committed in the country, including those in Donbass

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Neo-Nazism in Ukraine flourishes not only against the Russian population but also against Jews. Many physical crimes are committed in the country, including those in Donbass, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with Russian and foreign media on Thursday.

"When [French President Emmanuel] Macron said, I have already referred to this statement today, that the statement about neo-Nazism flourishing in Ukraine is a lie, how do you think it feels to hear such a thing from the lips of our ally? If you don't see how similar what is happening in Ukraine is with respect to both Jews and Russians, I mean, aggressive statements, torchlight marches, and many, many physical crimes, including in Donbass," he said, responding to a question from a journalist of the French television channel TF1.

In addition, Lavrov added that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is France's partner in the former Normandy format, said that it was ridiculous to claim that there were signs of genocide in Ukraine. "Well, it's not very pleasant to hear it from the mouth of the German representative either. So sad that our German colleagues do not recognize such signs," he added.
