SOCHI, October 21. /TASS/. Manipulating events of the past for solving today’s situational matters in world affairs does not lead to mutual understanding, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.

"They simply use these events of the past to solve today’s situational internal political issues. This is bad because such manipulation of history does not lead to anything good. In any case, it does not lead to mutual understanding that is needed so much today," the Russian leader said at a session of the Valdai International Discussion Club in response to a question by historian Alexei Miller.
