MOSCOW, September 15. /TASS/. The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad held on Monday was organized with all the necessary precautionary measures observed amid the coronavirus pandemic, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

"I am not a spokesperson for Bashar al-Assad. All the necessary precautionary measures were naturally taken," he said when asked if the Syrian leader had been vaccinated.

On Tuesday, Putin said that he would self-isolate due to coming in contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases in his inner circle. The Russian and Syrian leaders had the meeting on Monday to particularly discuss the situation in Syria.
