US foreign policy somersaults in relations with NATO will not go unnoticed - Medvedev

Deputy chief of Russia’s Security Council stressed that "building relations with their allies, especially in NATO, is another basic factor that directly influences the trajectory of international development"

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. US foreign policy somersaults in relations with other NATO countries will not go unnoticed for Washington, Deputy chief of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev wrote in his op-ed published by tass.com on Saturday.

He stressed that "building relations with their allies, especially in NATO, is another basic factor that directly influences the trajectory of international development."

"It is clear that the US foreign policy somersaults over a relatively short period of time will not go unnoticed," he warned.

Medvedev pointed out that "the Biden administration which is largely made up of the key figures from the Obama administration has already assured its European partners that full cooperation within the North Atlantic Alliance will be restored."

"The US is expected to drop its claims about the disproportionately small contribution of Europeans to NATO funding and the imbalance in military budgets, which have been repeatedly voiced by the Trump administration," he believes. "Time will show to what extent the trust of the US European allies will be regained."
