Zoo employee dies after tiger attack in Mariupol

The incident occurred around midday when an employee came in to feed the animal

DONETSK, April 22. /TASS/. A zoo worker died from injuries after a tiger attack in Mariupol, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Russian Investigative Committee’s local department told TASS.

"Yes, a tiger killed a zoo employee in Mariupol. Our staff are working at the site," a spokesperson said.

According to the spokesperson, the incident occurred around midday when an employee came in to feed the animal. The victim died on the spot from his injuries. "Currently, measures are being taken to establish all the circumstances of the incident. Based on the results of the investigation, we will make a decision about how to proceed," the spokesperson said.
