Dozens evacuated after fire breaks out at boarding house in Russian seaside city Anapa

According to the reports, there is no information about casualties at this point

KRASNODAR, February 14. /TASS/. At least 26 people were evacuated after a fire broke out at a boarding house in the Blagoveshchensky district of Russia’s southern Black Sea resort city of Anapa, the local emergencies service’s press office announced on Friday.

According to the most recent reports, the fire has been contained.

"The reported fire area is 1,400 square meters. The building and cafeteria are ablaze," the press office stated, adding that the initial area of the fire was reported to be 1,000 square meters.

"Up to 26 people have been evacuated," the press office stated adding that there were no reported casualties at this point.

To put out the fire, 89 fire fighters and 29 emergency response vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

Inela Belykh, a spokesman for Anapa's municipal authorities, told TASS earlier that the the boarding house was serving as lodging for volunteers in charge of clearing fuel oil on the Black Sea shores following the recent spill caused by the wreckage of two vessels nearby.

"This is true indeed," she said. "It was our volunteers’ headquarters. The humanitarian aid is charred judging by the video that I’m watching at the moment, the fire spread to storage rooms that contained food items. We are calculating the damage now."
