Water level in Ural River rises by 22 cm near Orenburg, declines by 10 cm near Orsk

In the city, 1,912 residential houses and 2,408 household plots are flooded, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported

MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. The water level in the Ural River near Orsk has gone down by 10 cm, releasing 250 houses from water, the Russian Emergencies Ministry press service told TASS.

"We can see a sustainable momentum in declining of the water level in Orsk. As of now, it went down by 10 cm to 894 cm. The water left over 250 residential houses," the ministry said.

Near Orenburg, the water level in the Ural River rose by 22 cm. In the city, 1,912 residential houses and 2,408 household plots are flooded.

The agency is increasing its grouping in the areas most prone to flooding. Water levels are monitored several times a day. A total of 4,500 people and 850 units of equipment are involved in the region's flood relief efforts.

According to the latest data, 12,800 residential houses and 14,900 homestead plots have been flooded in the region, including Orenburg. A total of 7,703 people have been evacuated. As many as 1,513 people stay in temporary accommodation centers.
