Evacuation from flooded areas in Orsk taking place day and night

Russian Minister of Emergencies Alexander Kurenkov has started out for the Orenburg Region to organize work in the flood area

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Orsk residents are being evacuated from territories flooded after the dam breaking 24 hours a day, the press service of the government of the Orenburg Region said.

"Residents are being evacuated from flooded territories in Orsk day and night. The railroad crossing is operating normally. Regional and municipal services, rescuers and volunteers are engaged. All the required machinery, including watercraft, is in the inventory of mobile rescue teams," the press service informed.

The press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies told TASS that more than 700 rescuers are helping residents of the city of Orsk.

"Over 700 rescuers of the Russian Ministry of Emergencies are helping Orsk residents day and night in challenging conditions, without any work stops," the ministry said.

Rescuers are operating in the most difficult areas. "Amphibious transporters capable of accommodating up to 50 people simultaneously are used along with motor and inflatable boats," the ministry added.
