According to the Anadolu news agency, the ship was anchored near the island of Fethiye.

The causes of the blast have not been identified yet. The coast guard has been informed of the incident and sent rescue and police boats to the site of the explosion. Those injured were taken to the hospital; one of them is in serious condition.

The ship called at the Turkish port of Mersin on October 15. There is no information about its cargo.
