According to the report, the whereabouts of the militants became known during investigative procedures

GROZNY, March 29. /TASS/. Two militants were killed during a police operation in the Chechen city of Gudermes, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.

"The militants were surrounded and told to lay down their weapons. In an attempt to escape from the encirclement, the criminals threw a grenade at law enforcement officers. Both were killed by return fire. No law enforcement officers or civilians were injured," the Chechen leader wrote.

According to the report, the whereabouts of the militants became known during investigative procedures.

"I would ask you to refrain from circulating rumors about some members of a militant group who were not killed, or about their sudden attack on law-enforcement officers and other fake news. The criminals have been exposed and destroyed. Gudermes keeps living a peaceful life," the Chechen leader added.

He thanked the republic’s police and security officers for their successful operation against the militants.
