Ukrainian military shell LPR town of Popasnaya using HIMARS launcher

Information about possible casualties and caused damage is still to come

LUGANSK, October 19. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military shelled the town of Popasnaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) in the early hours of Wednesday, firing two rockets from a US-made HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, the LPR mission to the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of issues related to Ukraine’s war crimes said.

"A shelling attack was reported coming from positions held by Ukrainian armed formations: at 0:35 a.m. [Moscow time], two rockets were fired towards Popasnaya from the HIMARS MLRS," the mission said in its Telegram channel. "Information about possible casualties and caused damage is still to come."

The mission reported earlier that the Ukrainian military launched on Tuesday six rockets with the use of HIMARS MLRS targeting the village of Novoivanovka in the LPR. Local official Sergey Kolyagin said that an ambulance crew came under the delivered rocket attack and two medics suffered wounds.

The official added that as a result of the attack damage was inflicted upon a local educational institution, a post office, as well as several residential buildings, with one of them completely destroyed.
