ANKARA, July 22. /TASS/. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has praised the Russian authorities’ decision to resume air traffic with Turkey.

"After a coup attempt, Russian authorities have suspended air traffic. Aeroflot stopped selling air tickets. We personally assured Moscow of flight safety," Cavusoglu told TRT TV channel on Friday.

The issues of ensuring safe stay of Russians in Turkey are resolved "not only by relevant ministries but by the people in general," he added. "Russians should not worry, we told them this, and they will lift the ban now. We thank Russia for such solidarity," Cavusoglu noted.

Russian aviation agency Rosaviatsiya has lifted temporary suspension of air traffic with Turkey starting from July 22.
