MOSCOW, April 23. /TASS/. An SJ-100 plane assembled only from domestically-made components, including PD-8 engines, has made its maiden flight in the Far Eastern city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the Rostec state corporation said.
Certification tests are expected to be completed by the end of the year, and deliveries to Russian air carriers are to begin in 2026.
"I’m sure that it will be an important step towards strengthening our country’s technological independence and an important contribution into the development of Russia’s aircraft-making industry," United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) CEO Vadim Badekha said.
"The import-substituted version of the plane is being created within a limited timeframe. We plan to complete certification trials by the end of the year, so that deliveries to air carriers could begin in 2026," he added.
All systems worked normally during the trials, Rostec said.
