Russia’s passenger car production rises by 12.8% to 115,000 cars in January-February

Production of passenger vehicles increased by 11.7% compared to January and by 6.8% year-on-year, reaching 60,800 vehicles

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Passenger car production in Russia rose by 12.8% in January-February 2025 year-on-year reaching 115,000 vehicles, according to data from the Russian State Statistics Service (Rosstat).

In February 2025, the production of passenger vehicles increased by 11.7% compared to January and by 6.8% year-on-year, reaching 60,800 vehicles.

Meanwhile, the production of trucks in Russia amounted to 22,400 vehicles over the first two months of 2025, marking a 20.1% decline compared to the same period in 2024. In February, truck manufacturing fell by 11.1% year-on-year to 13,500 vehicles. However, in comparison to January 2025, production surged by 52.8%.

The output of buses weighing over five tons dropped by 41.9% in January-February 2025, totaling 1,367 vehicles. In February, production declined by 38.7% year-on-year to 838 vehicles but rose by 58.4% compared to January 2025.

Additionally, the production of buses weighing no more than five tons reached 2,300 vehicles in the first two months of 2025, reflecting a 20.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2024. In February, output fell by 12.6% year-on-year to 1,400 vehicles but increased by 66.7% compared to January 2025.
