Lifting sanctions on Rosselkhozbank to ease supply of fertilizers to states facing issues

Earlier, the Kremlin announced following expert consultations with Washington that Russia and the US had reached an agreement to provide for the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative, which includes ensuring safe navigation

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. The removal of sanctions on Rosselkhozbank (Russian Agricultural Bank) within the framework of the Black Sea agreement will facilitate supplies of Russian products to countries experiencing issues due to restrictions, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said, adding that there are no issues with supplies to friendly countries.

"This assortment is also supplied today. The issue is first of all about supplies to countries, which are facing difficulties with acquisition of those products now due to sanctions against Russian financial organizations," he said when asked about the influence of removal of sanctions on Rosselkhozbank on supplies of Russian products, including equipment and fertilizers.

"There are no problems regarding friendly countries, which purchase using alternative currency, or rubles, or currency of third countries, today. This is why it concerns those having issues with acquisition first of all," the official noted.

Earlier, the Kremlin announced following expert consultations with Washington that Russia and the US had reached an agreement to provide for the implementation of the Black Sea Initiative, which includes ensuring safe navigation. The US will help restore Russia's access to the world market for agricultural and fertilizer exports, lower maritime insurance costs, and enhance access to ports and payment systems for such transactions. Those agreements between Moscow and Washington will come into force following the removal of sanctions imposed on Rosselkhozbank (Russian Agricultural Bank) and other financial institutions involved in ensuring international food trade.
