Serbia lifts sunflower oil import restrictions for Eurasian Economic Union

Following introduction of restrictions in March 2024, exports of sunflower oil and margarine from the EAEU to Serbia plunged by 40% in nine months against the like period of 2023, EEC added

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Serbia notified the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) about lifting of quantitative restrictions on imports of sunflower oil and fat-containing products from member-nations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Commission said in its press release.

"Serbia notified the Eurasian Economic Commission about lifting of quantitative restrictions on imports of sunflower oil and fat-containing products from countries of the Eurasian Economic Union," the Commissioin informed.

"The issue was explored by the Commission since last April as part of work on implementation of the free trade agreement between the [Eurasian Economic] Union and Serbia," EEC Trade Minister Andrey Slepnev said, cited by the Commission. Cancellation of restrictions reflects meaningful interaction and underscores positive development of trade and economic cooperation between the parties, he noted.
