Slovakia starts receiving Russian gas via TurkStream pipeline — Prime Minister

BRATISLAVA, February 11. /TASS/. Russian gas supplies to Slovakia have resumed via the TurkStream pipeline, the republic’s Prime Minister Robert Fico announced on his Facebook page (banned in Russia, owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation).

"Russian gas is starting to flow to Slovakia via the TurkStream [pipeline]. This is happening thanks to the efforts of the Russian and Turkish sides. We should thank them for this," he said.

Earlier, Slovak media reported that Gazprom had begun supplying gas to the Slovak company SPP via the TurkStream pipeline on February 1. Under to the contract, the supplies will last until 2034. According to the media, the volume of Russian gas supplied to the republic should double from April.
