DUSHANBE, December 23. /TASS/. Export of certain types of Tajik products to Russia increased notably in 2024, with the export-import structure between the two countries having remained almost unchanged, head of Russia’s trade mission in the republic Yevgeny Korenkov told TASS.
"We have traditionally monitored the export-import dynamics for many years. Overall, the import-export structure has not changed. <…> However, I would like to note a serious increase in supplies from Tajikistan to Russia on certain categories: the category of hosiery, items of clothing, footwear soared almost 4.5-fold, with its share in total imports [by Russia] reaching almost 40%, while cotton and cotton fiber accounted for the remaining 60%," he said.
Korenkov also noted an increase of 43% in supplies of fruits and vegetables from Tajikistan compared with last year.
Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia increased by 19.1% in the first ten months of 2024 year-on-year. The volume of last year’s trade between Russia and the republic roughly equaled $1.7 bln, which is an all-time high.
