Russia’s Alliance for Artificial Intelligence joins international AI-alliance

The document was signed in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. A 15-country international AI Alliance Network has been established and launched with Russia’s Alliance for Artificial Intelligence being a part of it, the Sber press service reported.

The document was signed in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I thank our friends and guests of today's forum. I congratulate you on the signing of this alliance agreement. The more alliances, the better future awaits us all - today you have taken another step towards ensuring this better future for mankind," the Russian leader said after the ceremony.

"Cooperation between interested countries will help to accelerate the development and implementation of AI solutions, improve their quality and agree on joint actions more quickly, including the development of common principles of regulation and ethics of artificial intelligence. I thank the representatives of all the associations that have already joined the alliance, and I am confident that this is just the beginning. Today at the AI Journey international conference we have launched a global AI partnership that will create new opportunities for its members around the world," the press service quoted the alliance’s Supervisory Board Chairman Alexander Vedyakhin as saying.

The press service also said that 18 associations across 15 countries have already joined the alliance, those being Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, China, Cuba, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Morocco, Russia, Serbia, Tunisia, and South Africa. The alliance members will base their interactions on the principles of partnership, equality, and consideration of the interests of all participants. "The new AI-alliance will provide national developers and companies with additional opportunities to work in the external markets of the member countries and expand the potential of technology implementation in various industries," the press service pointed out.
