MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Production and sales of the Moskvich 8 model are expected to start at the end of 2024, the press service of the Moskvich plant told TASS.
"Moskvich 8 will go into production and sale at the end of this year," the press service said.
Moskvich 8 is a seven-seat crossover. Its length is 4,824 mm, width - 1,870 mm, height - 1,756 mm, wheelbase of 2,830 mm. The car will be equipped with a 174-horsepower gasoline engine and a 7-speed robotic transmission.
This will be the fourth model in the Moskvich line. Currently, the Moscow automobile plant produces the Moskvich 3 crossover and its electric version Moskvich 3e, as well as the Moskvich 6 gasoline crossover. The line is also to include the Moskvich 5 model, as previously reported by the commercial director of the Moskvich automobile plant, Alexander Migal.
"Almost two years ago, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin decided to restart car production at the Moskvich plant and retain the workforce, and today the enterprise’s conveyor is working steadily. By the end of the year, it is planned to begin production of another model - the Moskvich 8 crossover. The car will suit for daily trips around the city, as well as for traveling with the whole family," said Deputy Mayor of the capital Maxim Liksutov, whose words were quoted by the press service.
