MOSCOW, April 10. /TASS/. Russian Railways are expected to have an increase in carloads as of the end of this year, First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov told reporters.
Carloads of Russian Railways fell by 3.1% year on year in the first quarter of 2024 to 295.9 mln metric tons.
"Certainly there will be an increase. I think they will recover - dynamics in April is better already," the official said.
Carloads are expected to be 2.7% lower (102.6 mln metric tons) in annual terms in April 2024, Deputy CEO of Russian Railways Alexey Shilo said earlier. Carloads of Russian Railways in March plunged by 3.5% year on year to 105.3 mln metric tons.
