MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has suspended oil shipments from its terminal near the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk because of scheduled activities at the oil pipeline, the company’s press service told reporters.

"The Caspian Pipeline Consortium initiated maintenance and connection of new equipment at facilities of the Tengiz - Novorossiysk main oil pipeline since April 9, 2024 in the course of the scheduled shutdown," the pipeline operator said. Oil shipments at the CPC marine terminal are also halted now and their resumption is scheduled from April 11.

Such 72-hour shutdowns of oil transportation occur at least twice per year and their schedule is agreed in advance with all the shippers and with the Kazakh Ministry of Energy, CPC said. They are required to perform maintenance, repair and equipment connections that cannot be done when the equipment is operating.
