First stage of container terminal to be completed in 2028 in Taman port

KRASNODAR, March 27. /TASS/. OTEKO company plans to complete the first stage of building a container terminal with a throughput capacity of 0.5 mln TEU [20 ft container equivalent] per year in the Black Sea port of Taman in 2028, First Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Krasnodar Region Andrey Kosyanov told TASS.

"The total freight turnover of nine seaports located in the territory of the Krasnodar Region totaled 277.7 mln metric tons in January - December 2023. This is plus 13.2% against the 2022 level. A number of major projects on port infrastructure upgrade is being implemented recently in seaports in the territory of the Krasnodar Region, the official said.

"In 2028, it is planned to implement the first stage of the project to create a container terminal with the transshipment capacity of 0.5 mln TEU [per year]," Kosyanov added.
