MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Pakistan is interested in expanding supplies of Russian oil, with negotiations on concluding long-term contracts with Moscow underway, Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali said in an interview with TASS.
"Russia is one of sources where we can get cheap oil, and this is what our technical experts address. Our interim federal energy minister Mohammad Ali has even said that initially we would like to purchase 10% of oil totally consumed in Russia. Later this volume may be increased to 30%," he said.
Islamabad is interested in concluding long-term contracts with Moscow, and "negotiations at advanced level on the issue are underway," the diplomat added.
"I am very much satisfied with the fact that the first batch of 100,000 tons of oil was delivered to Pakistan this June," he said.
