Russia interested in cooperating with Tajikistan in uranium mining — Putin

Russian companies are also interested in exploration and mining of metals of rare and rare-earth group, including lithium, the Russian President said

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian companies is interested in cooperating with their Tajik counterparts in exploration and mining of uranium, lithium and rare-earth metals, President Vladimir Putin said in the statement for mass media after talks with leader of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon.

"We see good prospects in the mining sector. Russian companies are interested in exploration and mining of uranium together with Tajik partners, and metals of rare and rare-earth group, including lithium," the Russian President said.

Rosatom state corporation has just completed a major project on rehabilitation of an industrial site for uranium processing in Tajikistan, Putin said. "And [it] is ready to cooperate with the Tajik side in other areas of peaceful nuclear technologies use, primarily in medicine," he added.
