North-South corridor to drive growth of trade between Kazakhstan, Russia — Tokayev

"Kazakhstan has no access to the World Ocean, which is why the North-South transport corridor with the final point in the Persian Gulf ports and with further access to India opens up wide prospects," the Kazakh President said

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. The North-South transport corridor opens up wide prospects and it will drive growth of trade and investment between Kazakhstan and Russia, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in an interview with Russia’s Izvestia daily.

"Kazakhstan has no access to the World Ocean, which is why the North-South transport corridor with the final point in the Persian Gulf ports and with further access to India opens up wide prospects and it may become one of drivers of our country’s economic development," he said.

"The strengthening of transport interdependence between Kazakhstan and Russia, including through the North-South corridor, will definitely drive growth of mutual trade and investment," the president added.
